The Mediterranean International Foundation for Biodiversity is carrying out an ambitious and demanding project: a census of the Egyptian vulture pairs still present in Sicily. It is an arduous undertaking, made difficult by this small vulture's natural habit of nesting on steep, rugged rock faces.
Thanks to the patience and the trained eye of our field operators, we have managed to capture beautiful images of this magnificent and elusive wild animal and to estimate the current Sicilian population.
